DJ ZIMMO
DJ Zimmo aka Scott Zimmerman born in 1975 in Birmingham, West Midlands, England has been a professional DJ for over 15 years. His love of house music stems from the early 90′s playing a variety of different music styles including Hard House and Trance. With the progression of House Music he moved to a more specialist style of Funky Vocal House Music, of which he currently plays today.
Current influences include; Hott 22, Gambafreaks, Raul Rincon, Dirty Freek, Audio Jackers, The Freemasons, Disco Darlings & ATFC.
Beginning his DJ career playing vinyl on the Technics 1210′s has enabled him to gain the professional experience a DJ needs in the art of mixing. Technology has developed quite rapidly and has changed the way a DJ works. During the last few years there has been a big shift from vinyl mixing to MP3′s. Being one to embrace new forms of mixing, he decided to make the transition and with these new tools learnt the ability to perform Seamless Harmonic Mixing.
During the early days of his DJing career he held various residences and played out at various venues across the country including; Sundissential, A Country Affair, Speakeasy and Warehouse London, playing alongside DJs such as Tony De Vit, Andy Ward, Tall Paul, Jeremy Healy and Andy Farley. His experience has seen him playing to a variety of crowd sizes from small clubs through to over 3000 people.
Currently he is enjoying one of the most successful stages of his DJ career, having secured a weekly online Radio show which has now been successfully running for 2 years. In addition to this he has produced over 24 albums (July 2010) for his podcast “Funky Vocal House Sessions” on itunes and has seen its growth achieve over 150,000 downloads and 25,000 subscribers. The success of this led him to being approached by Radio Metro FM in Australia to produce a guest mix that was aired to its entire listener base on the Gold Coast.
His current involvement sees him working on a debut Funky House Track which should be completed by the end of 2010. He’s also just secured his debut international appearance playing in Holland on the 24th October 2010 for the international DJ Agency Il-Musica.
